A number of the Easton squad have felt the devastating impact that cancer can play on our lives and as such, we were extremely pleased to see Stu Halton arrange a tournament last year to support Cancer Reasearch. This was a massive success and we raised over £500 for the charity. This year, Trigger suggested that we do the same again and he's been busy trying to sort out the necessary details.

We now have the 4G pitch booked up at Easton on 17th July and it would be great to see as many people there to help support the event. In terms of teams, all eight spots have been filled by the following:
    Thorpe A (My Team)
    Thorpe B (Cameron's Side)
    Thorpe L (Trig's Team)
    Easton (Colin)
    Easton Legends (Ted)
    Costessey Vets (Gibbo/Jordie)
    Norfolk PE Teachers
    NCSSSSCCSSSSSSCS (Brownbridge)

Each player needs to contribute £10 to the charity and a further £2.50ish to cover the cost of the pitch hire.

Hoping that the bar will also be open at Easton College on the day. We'll also plan to go out in the evening as well for those that fancy it. I'll confirm details closer to the time.

I hope all the teams follow our example.......Our team has been instucted not to bother about finding the net!
ONLY to make Trig look an arse.......My donation will increase as his humiliation increases

Jordie....your wallet will be empty long before Keyhole's humiliation ends.

Picture the scene.....Trigger walks in wearing his usual "lost property special"...that'll be £10 pls jordie.

Trigger tries to kick a ball....again £10

Trigger in front of an empty goal (well brownbridge is there but for all intense purposes it's empty!!) ......£10

We could go on.

Easton Legends will win at a canter....Cram topscorer...Ted most people to A&E...anyone wonna bet?

Talk it up Rixy and Jordan we shall see on the day who is victorious.

Anyway we shall be playing 2 leagues of 4 - 3 games each for those a little slow.
All teams will then play off for final positions - for example 7th & 8th place play off between the 2 teams who finished last in their groups i.e. Easton Legends and Jordies old age pensioners so all teams will get 4 games.

All the changing rooms will be available so if we aim to get to Easton College around 12.30pm so we can make the most of our 3 hours - 1.00-4.00pm.

We have got 3 7 aside pitches so the teams that are not playing will provide refs for the other games.

Ted can you bring the bibs just incase we have a colour clash and also can we use the clubs footballs?

The groups shall be drawn or decided soon so I'll let you know who is playing who later this week.

Can the managers (Tim, Ted, Jordie, Chris, Colin) please collect all money before we start and make sure everyone realises it is a laugh and all for charity - Ted none of your poorly timed tackles and Jordie no throwing mud in peoples faces!

The other important thing is to remind everyone that if they fancy it beers after the footy down the yarmouth road and into the city.

The 2 groups for the tournament have now been drawn. There is one easy group where the standard of football will be decidedly average and then we have the group of death where the winner will surely come from.

The average group - players of low ability
1. Easton has beens - Manager Eddie Jack.
2. Easton - Manager Colin Fell.
3. The old age pensioners - Manager Andrew Jordan.
4. Our goalkeeper can't catch! - Manager Chris Brownbridge.

The Group of death
1. Thorpe St Andrew 1st team - Manager Peter Keogh.
2. Thorpe St Andrew Reserves - Manager Timothy Wickham.
3. Thorpe St Andrew Spare Parts - Manager Neil Cameron.
4. Norfolk PE select - Manager Dave Hyett.

See you all at either pre-season or on the 17th.

Hello Chaps

My physio is continuing and my ankle is starting to get stronger and more flexible.

I hope to be towards full fitness and able to train/play within the next few weeks with a little luck.

I think that it is highly unlikely that i will be going to latitude so am going to be avaliable for the tournament on the 17th.

Keogh can you let anyone know who has a space come up on their roster that i am avalible if they want a creative - if a little slow - tailsman. Alternatively i am a fucking good 5-a-side keeper.

I think it's a credit to Peter Keogh that he has created his own special needs mini league that his Thorpe teams will play in. Very noble KeOGh.

I have checked with my mate Sepp and he informs me that unless there is video evidence of the draw being made then it does not comply with UEFA rules. As it is unlikely he has any I call for the draw to be carried out again on the day of the tournament.

Following lots of moaning about the draw last night in the public house named the shed a redraw was staged - Eddie Jack was on the phone to make sure it was not staged!

The outcome is as follows

Group A
1. Easton Reserves
2. Easton Legends
3. Brownbridge
4. Thorpe Keogh

Group B
1. Jordies Veterans
2. PE Teachers
3. Thorpe Wickham
4. Thorpe Cameron

Because of all the complaints we will probably now see an all Thorpe Final so hard luck!

Also I am happy with the draw as I will able to get my own back on Rixy for all his off the ball fouling at training!
Remember its £12 per player and this will have to be collected before the start otherwise you won't be able to play.
Also if any teams do pull out at the last moment then we will just play a straight league.

Cheers see you all on the 17th
