Easton started their first season in division 3 with a desperately unlucky 1-0 defeat away to Cromer Reserves.
Easton started the more positive team and had all of the early running including a couple of half chances that on another day may have crept in to give Easton the lead their early pressure deserved.
Cromer took the lead very much against the run of play when a series of corners led to the Cromer midfielder getting a run on his defender and directed a bullet header high into the net from 7 yards.
Rightly feeling hard done by Easton lost some of the fluency that had helped them early on and could only muster a few long shots and hopeful crosses as Chris made a smart save down to his left after the ball broke kindly for a Cromer player to keep the score at one and new signing Chris Hoy fired only inches wide with a spectacular strike that had beaten the keeper.
Easton went into the break knowing they deserved more than they currently had and came out for the second half full of optimism for the next 45 minutes.
As the floodlights fired up Easton were again doing the majority of the running with Gibbo and Matt C starting to get hold of the ball in central midfield with the back four looking very solid with MOM Tim excelling in his new right back role.
The half wore on with Easton still fighting for an equaliser, Beanie, Chris Hoy again and Jordy went very close before the Cromer keeper saved his team all three points with a stunning point blank save from Chris.
The referee brought the game to a close with Easton knowing that they could have done no more and will play much worse than that this season and get results. All credit goes to Cromer for their battling performance and their hospitality post game. Easton will be looking to get back on track with their trip to Foulsham next tuesday.

Re: Cromer Res 1 Easton 0
Good report Chris. Hope to see these after every game. Can you believe that Trig had the cheek to blame me for conceding the goal! Not quite sure how that was the case with me taking the front post duties!!!
