Post 7th March 09 - Blofield Res 1 v 0 Easton
Easton after there impressive performance against Harleston the week before travelled to Blofield with a patched up squad carrying a few injuries. Pete Keogh returned to the starting line up carrying an ankle injury, Stu Halton remained on the bench also nursing his 'glass' ankle, Simon Rix was unanavailable until half time, Tom Payne and Andrew Jordan remains sidelined. This meant that Eddie Jack had to return to the side for possibly the first time this season to left midfield with Matt Cartledge playing left back.

There were early reminders, in the first few minutes, of last seasons performance against Blofield when Easton didn’t turn up for 90 minutes and were well beaten. With Blofield taking the initiative with their 3 man centre midfield there was plenty of movement and space to catch Easton out although they rarely penetrated the Easton defence apart from a few crosses Eastons keeper was rarely troubled.

Easton did get through a few times and had a couple of penalty shouts turned down, with one looking blatant after the defender swiped at Lee Newtons legs as he went through. Neil Moggan continued his good form up front and was giving the Blofield defence plenty to think about. Eddie Jack had a decent chance after a good Paul Gibbs free kick but was unable to head home and a number of other half chances drifted past. But it was Blofield who took the lead with the impressive Blofield captain ghosting into the box unmarked before volleying home past the helpless C. Brownbridge.

This gave a spurt of momentum to Blofield who carried out a number of attacking moves past a static Easton team, although again they did not look to have the ability to convert in the final third.

After half time Easton started to take the initiative with some better football against a tiring Blofield side. Pete Keogh retired after playing well with his bandaged ankle and was replaced by S Rix 15 minutes in to the second half. Easton continued to create a number of chances, T Wickham struck the underside of the cross bar with after spinning in the box, the keeper made a number of good saves and N Moggan was unlucky after a defender cleared off the line at the end of a fast flowing passing move.

It just wasn’t to be and Easton were unlucky not to get at least a point from the game, but hope to get back on track against S.Walsham next week

Pete, twas a shit game but good report however you don't appear to have fully grasped the priviledge of writing the match report. It is perfectly acceptable to enter your name at least three times, no matter how significant/insignificant your performance in said game! I expect at least 6 "Pete Anderson"'s for the South Walsham game to make amends! :D
