Post 13th July 2010 - Reepham 1 v 0 Easton
Team: Chris Brownbridge, Gav Small, Simon Rix, Peter Keogh, Steve Shaw, Tim Wickham , Jason Garwood, Josh Bull, Matt Cartledge, Dean Keates, Paul Gibbs, Eddie Jack, Jonathan Richards, Matt Fell, Andrew Jordan

Easton lined up for the new season much earlier than usual to play a young Reepham team. We welcomed a new face to the team, the experienced Jason Garwood to add some additional steel to the Easton midfield.

Easton lined up in a new 4-5-1 formation and the match started with Easton playing some very good possession football. Reepham were struggling to get the ball and started to get frustrated. This led to them kicking pretty much anything in sight which was not appreciated by the Easton team who thought they had come to play a pre-season friendly. Cynical fouls committed by Reepham throughout the half really did make this a frustrating affair and made for a very stop/start game. Easton came close on a few occasions but nothing to really trouble the Reepham keeper. Matt Cartledge was on the end of a particularly nasty tackle which forced his withdrawal before the end of the half. Right at the end of the first half a rare mistake led to the Easton defence being caught short and the Reepham striker tucked the ball in at the near post to give them the lead.

The second half kicked off and both teams made a number of changes. Chances again were few and far between however the youthful Reepham team were making their additional fitness count. They didn't really trouble Brownbridge in goal however Easton were also not troubling the Reepham keeper. The most exciting moment of the game occured when a small dog ran on the pitch and Jordie resisted the urge to send both the ball and the dog flying goalwards!

Match finished with Reepham taking it 1-0 however it was a good first run out for the side despite the disappointing tactics employed by Reepham. Had it not been a friendly Reepham could well have finished with 9 however, other than Matt's injury, the side escaped relatively unscathed.

Training at Easton college today at 7pm with the Charity tournament on Saturday and a friendly against Gorleston 2 weeks away.
